Tatiana Schlossberg, the granddaughter of the 35th U.S. president, passed away this week following a November revelation of a rare leukemia diagnosis.

The sad news was shared in a online announcement by the Kennedy Presidential Library.

“Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts.”

Understanding the Illness

Within a recently published piece this past fall, she disclosed that she had been suffering from AML, a form of leukemia with a rare mutation.

This form of cancer is a disease that originates in the bone marrow and blood cells.
